WILMINGTON , Del. (WPVI) -- A teenage girl was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Wilmington, Delaware.
It happened around 5 a.m. on Monday, at Maryland Avenue and Lower Oak Street.
The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Sa'riyah Patterson.
Action News has obtained surveillance video of the fatal crash. We stopped the video right before the moment of impact.
In the video, you can see a car come barreling down what appears to be the wrong side of the street when Patterson is hit.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
Police say they found the vehicle in Bear, Delaware. The driver, who police identified as 22-year-old Elijah Davis, is charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
A resident of the area says the crash woke her up.
"You know how somebody would try to stop, you hear [screeching nose]. It was nothing like that. It was just boom, glass shattering and that's it," said Latisha, who didn't want us to use her last name.
Neighbors say there are a lot of kids in the area and a school bus stop nearby.
"It's kids out early in the morning and teenagers going to school. Slow down! You shouldn't be in that much of a rush," Latisha said.
