Ethiopia, Turkmenistan Vow to Consolidate Bilateral Relations

Addis A baba, April 8, 2025 (ENA)—Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, today held a telephone conversation.

During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relations between the Ethiopia and Turkmenistan.

They also expressed their commitment to deepening diplomatic engagement and expanding cooperation on a range of areas, including economic development, inter-parliamentary dialogue, collaboration within international organizations, and strengthening people-to-people ties.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to pursue multifaceted and long-term cooperation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular diplomatic dialogue and facilitating high-level visits to further explore areas of mutual interest.

The ministers also expressed optimism about the future of Ethiopia–Turkmenistan relations, underscoring shared opportunities for economic growth, regional stability, and collaboration.
