Six talented Zimbabwean Gymnasts competing in Angola

Gymnastics Zimbabwe has announced that six promising gymnasts will represent Zimbabwe at an ongoing international gymnastics in Luanda, Angola from the 13th to the 19th of April.

This marks a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s growing presence on the international gymnastics stage after successfully hosting the African Youth Development Championships and the Region 5 Gymnastics competition July and November of 2025 respectively.

The international competition, ‘Festival Internacional de Gynástica’ has been organised to celebrate Angola’s 50 years of Independence and will unite gymnasts from Angola, Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe providing a unique opportunity for international exposure, experience, and growth in the sport. The stunning Kilamba Arena Pavilion will be the venue for the festival.

The Zimbabwe travelling team is made of five rhythmic and one tumbling gymnast who represented Zimbabwe at the Region 5 competition namely:

Savanna Nyashanu (Senior Rhythmic)
Iris Dumbarimwe (Senior Rhythmic)
Runako (Senior Rhythmic)
Sarah Rorke (Senior Rhythmic)
Cielle Matsikenyeri (Junior Rhythmic)
Arianna Mukaro (Junior Tumbling)
